What Landmark Premium Looks Like and Who It Suits

From the street, Landmark Premium reads as the familiar dimensional Landmark profile, staggered tabs and strong shadow lines, but the extra weight gives the roof a thicker, more deliberate edge at the rakes and eaves. It is a natural match for the brick colonials and stone-front homes common in New Albany and Dublin, where a heavier-looking roof carries the architecture better than a lightweight shingle.

It suits homeowners who want the highest impact classification available in a standard-asphalt shingle without moving to a rubberized or designer line.

If you also want cold-weather pliability and CertainTeed's enhanced granule adhesion, compare it against Landmark ClimateFlex at your estimate. We will lay both out side by side.

How CertainTeed Covers Landmark Premium

CertainTeed backs Landmark Premium with a lifetime limited transferable warranty, and CertainTeed includes 10-year SureStart protection and a 30-year StreakFighter algae-resistance warranty (when installed with CertainTeed algae-resistant hip and ridge). CertainTeed also provides a 15-year, 110 mph wind-resistance warranty on Landmark Premium, with an upgrade to 160 mph available when the roof is installed with specified CertainTeed starter and hip & ridge accessories over a full tear-off.

Manufacturer warranties are provided and administered by CertainTeed, and the full terms, exclusions, and transfer rules are CertainTeed's to define. We recommend reading the current warranty document before you decide, and we are happy to walk through it with you at your estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Class 4 impact rating actually mean?

It is the top score under UL 2218, a standardized test that drops steel balls of increasing size onto the shingle to simulate hail. Class 4 is the highest of the four classes: the shingle withstood the largest test ball without cracking.

Should I choose Landmark Premium or Landmark ClimateFlex?

Both carry the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating. Landmark Premium gets there as a heavier standard-asphalt laminate with the classic Landmark look. Landmark ClimateFlex gets there with a rubberized polymer-modified asphalt that also adds cold-weather pliability and enhanced granule adhesion. If you want maximum weight and the traditional profile, that is Premium; if you want the added flexibility of a rubberized shingle, that is ClimateFlex. We can price both on the same estimate.

Who handles the manufacturer coverage on my shingles?

Manufacturer warranties are provided and administered by CertainTeed. Ask us which CertainTeed warranty applies to your roof, and see the full terms on CertainTeed's warranty page.
