What It Looks Like
Random Tabs and Slate Color Blends
Real slate is heavy enough to require a structural review and expensive to repair. Grand Manor gets the look in asphalt: random tabs, deep shadow lines, and color blends modeled on natural stone, so the roof reads as slate from the sidewalk rather than as a repeating manufactured pattern.
The layered construction also holds its definition on steep slopes, the angles where a luxury roof is most visible, and carries a Class 4 impact rating, the highest UL 2218 class.
Who It Suits
Large Homes With Steep, Prominent Roofs
Grand Manor belongs on homes where the roof is a defining feature: the stone and brick traditionals of Upper Arlington, steep-gabled custom builds in New Albany, and larger Dublin homes with complex rooflines, dormers, and turrets.
It is the top of the CertainTeed range and installs like it: more material per square, more labor, and accessory details done right. We price it on your estimate next to Carriage House and Highland Slate so you can compare.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Grand Manor impact rated?
Yes. Grand Manor carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest of the four impact classes. In the UL 2218 test, Class 4 means the shingle withstood a two-inch steel ball dropped from twenty feet, twice in the same spot, without cracking.
How does Grand Manor compare to Carriage House and Highland Slate?
All three chase a slate look with different personalities. Grand Manor is the heaviest, most layered of the group: random tabs with virtual five-layer coverage and a Class 4 impact rating. Carriage House uses scalloped edges for a Victorian-era feel, and Highland Slate delivers the slate look at a lower price point with a Class 3 impact rating. We bring samples of each so you can judge the profiles in person.
Who handles the manufacturer coverage on my shingles?
Manufacturer warranties are provided and administered by CertainTeed. Ask us which CertainTeed warranty applies to your roof, and see the full terms on CertainTeed's warranty page.
