What It Looks Like
The Landmark Look in Solar-Reflective Colors
From the street, Landmark Solaris reads like any other Landmark roof: a dimensional, dual-layer architectural shingle in familiar blended tones. The difference is in the granules: the Solaris color line is formulated and rated for solar reflectance, so more of the sun's energy bounces off the roof instead of soaking into the attic.
Because the line is built around CRRC-rated colors, the palette is narrower and more specialized than the standard Landmark range.
Who It Suits
A Specialty Choice in Central Ohio
Landmark Solaris was designed for hot-sun markets and California-style energy codes, where cool-roof compliance is mandatory. In Columbus and Central Ohio, a heating-dominated climate with real winters, the energy case is narrower: it makes the most sense on sun-baked, unshaded roofs with large south- and west-facing slopes, bonus rooms over garages, or attics that run hot all summer.
The regional colors are Graphite and Weathered Wood. See CertainTeed’s Landmark Solaris colors. For most Central Ohio homes, Landmark PRO is the more practical pick.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a cool-roof shingle make sense in Ohio?
Sometimes. Landmark Solaris was engineered for hot-sun climates and energy codes like California's Title 24, so the year-round payback is smaller in a four-season climate like Columbus. It earns its keep on exposed, sun-heavy roof planes and homes with overheated upper floors. The regional colors are Graphite and Weathered Wood.
How is Landmark Solaris different from standard Landmark?
Same Landmark profile and the same published ratings: UL Class A fire, UL 2218 Class 3 impact, and 110 mph wind resistance. The difference is the color line: Solaris colors are rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council for solar reflectance. Standard Landmark and Landmark PRO offer wider color palettes.
Who handles the manufacturer coverage on my shingles?
